Sergei Ostrovsky - First violinist of the and a founder of the "Aviv" string quartet, Professor of Geneva Haute Ecole de Musique, Concertmaster of major orchestras around the globe, including Orchestre de la Suisse Romande, London Philharmonic and many others. Soloist and Musical Director of Orchestre "Soloists of Neuchatel", Sergey performed with major orchestras in Israel and around the world, such as Orchestre de la Suisse Romande, Orchestre de la Communidad Valenciana, Israel Philharmonic Orchestra, Russian Philharmonic, Jerusalem Symphony, Cape Town Philharmonic, Johannesburg Philharmonic, "Amadeus" Chamber Orchestra (Poland), with such conductors as Zubin Mehta, Dmitry Jurowski, Maxim Vengerov etc. Sergey is a winner of Grand Prix in Melbourn International Chamber Music Competition, Bordeaux String Quartet Competition, Schubert Prize for String Quartet, Prague Spring Competition, and many others. Sergey has recorded the Mozart Concertone for two violins with Maxim Vengerov and the Verbier Festival Chamber Orchestra for EMI Classics. In 2010he recorded less known Russian concertos by Anton Arensky, Jules Conus and a world premiere recording of a Concertino op. 42 by Mieczysław Weinberg, for Naxos. Sergei is playing on 1716 Granccino violin, purchased with a great help of Mr. J. Mayer and "Tzfonot Tarbut" - non profit organization for arts and artists in Israel.
